I've been living in my adopted home of Malmö, Sweden for over two months now. The move has slowed down the pace of post-production to some extent, but things are coming along nicely. Editing is on-going, and we have just struck a deal with Zitrin Film & Productions for polishing the edit and special effects. Composition of the music is happening in Budapest, where the recording sessions with a very talented and exciting jazz quartet will be taking place later this month.
It occurred to me that this film has been, and continues to be a truly international affair. I first conceived of it in Cuba, wrote the script and shot it in Canada, and am finishing it in Sweden. We shot the film with a Spanish AD, a Chinese Camera Assistant, a Greek producer, a Dutch executive producer, the music is being composed by a Hungarian, sound design is being done by a Swede, and now an Argentinian will be taking charge of special effects.
Global village indeed.

Interview with the Vampire (or Me)
Tri-City Films has posted an interview they did with me a few weeks back. I get referred to as Noori a lot, which is weird.

Is it just me or do I sound particularly pompous in it?

Day 11 - The End is Nigh
Day 11 is done. It's been a whirlwind. It's been exhausting, exhilirating, frustrating, fun, and life-changing in equal measure. Often on the same day! Tomorrow finish shooting. I'm looking forward to being done with this stage and moving on to post-production, but I'm also gonna miss it. More than anything else, I'm gonna miss the people I've been working with. Working out to pre-recorded tapes of 'Mornings with Pasha', trying in vain to beat Jeff to a 'that's what she said' line, being given dirty looks by Mitzy when I inevitably reverse a decision or contradict myself. It's been fun. Now let's finish making a movie...
